Supportive housing - affordable housing paired with services designed to help people maintain their homes for the long-term - is widely recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to chronic homelessness. But we didn't stop at providing housing. Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home. Reporting to the Senior Program Director, the Director, Programs is responsible for the direct oversight of clinical programming services and close collaboration with operations staff, including the services delivered by full-time employees, and sub-contractors who perform security; medical and psychiatric care; and food service activities. The Program Director ensures the East Flatbush Save Haven is a safe, attractive housing alternative for street homeless individuals, and expedites client placement into appropriate permanent housing and supportive services. This is an onsite position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Oversee daily clinical operations and collaborate with the Director of Operations to ensure all aspects of the facility and service delivery run effectively
Oversee & promote effective strategies of placement of clients into appropriate permanent housing
Ensure compliance with multiple funding, programs, and audit requirements, including DHS requirements
Establish and maintain strong positive and productive working relationships, with an emphasis on positive and proactive problem-solving, with Seafarers staff as well as colleagues in Street to Home, External Affairs, Finance, Administration, and Human Resources
In addition to internal partners and stakeholders, this position will communicate with representatives from the multitude of regulatory agencies the Seafarers works with including from the city, state and federal government, outreach consortium, service partners, community stakeholders, volunteers, visitors seeking technical assistance, etc .
Liaise with DHS & facilities Director to ensure compliance with all DHS operations and facilities requirements
Liaise with community-at-large to improve neighborhood relations
Manage budget for facility, and record expenditures in compliance with fiscal policies. Produce monthly reports to capture the clinical work and placements completed, monitor performance against benchmarks, and take corrective action as necessary
Support the ongoing development and implementation of evidence-based practices onsite, including Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Medication Monitoring, Harm Reduction and Motivational Interviewing
Perform other dut i es as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's in Social Work or related degree required, LCSW preferred
Minimum five years of supervisory experience; minimum of three years of managerial operations experience
Strong writing and verbal communication skills to interface effectively and efficiently with colleagues to ensure quality services and program operations
Prior direct and supervisory experience working with homeless and challenging populations
