Req Number 132682We are looking for an LPN for an addiction treatment center (both in-patient and out-patient), located in Brooklyn, NY.This is a temporary, full-time hours job.Available Shifts:
Sun-Thur/ 7:30am-4pm
Tue-Sat/ 7:30am-4pm
Sun-Thur/ 3:30pm-12am
Tue-Sat/ 3:30pm-12am
Sun-Thur/ 11:30am-8am
In this role you will be responsible for administering skilled nursing care to patients in the facility under the supervision of the RN.An ideal candidate would have NYS LPN License and Diploma from an NLN accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses and minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in Substance Abuse or Psychiatry.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Administer all medications according to the standards of Safe Nursing Practice, in a timely manner and according to the provider's orders.
Complete and documents patient's individual progress notes (e.g., COWS scores, CIWA scores, vitals, etc.)
Document in the EMR all patient activities such as admissions, discharges, transfers, and visits to the Emergency Room.
Document in the medical records the progress of the patient's detox process including behavioral response.
Document all treatment interventions and patient's response to treatment in the medical records.
Educate patients regarding their medications and document patient's response, comprehension, and compliance in the medical record.
Communicate with all disciplines regarding changes to patient's treatment plan.
Responsible for checking all Emergency equipment daily such as (but not limited to): The Emergency Drug Box, the Asthma Nebulizer, the Emergency Oxygen Tank, the Emergency Delivery Kit.
Responsible for unit inventory assessment of medications, medical/surgical supplies, equipment, and stationery.
Prepare the unit's diet order form each night and forward the form to the Overnight RN Supervisor.
Accountable for documenting nursing incidents that occur during their shift.
