Our client, one of the largest banks in the US with wealth management, investment banking, and international business, is seeking anProduction Support
Location: Bryant Park, NY Position Type: Contract Job Responsibilities:- Someone excited to work in the banking industry.
- Dev- ops-ish type role but not a developer, more basic.
- Can be fresh out of college or up to 5 years of experience. Quick learner.
- Position was compared to a 'fire fighter' - solving problems, quick resolution, NOT CODING, someone that finds issues and problem solving exciting.
- Daily activity- emails, answering questions, attempt problem resolution.
- Basic python skills
- SQL
- PLUS's- ELK and Grafana
- Analyzing logs using common UNIX syntax and order tracer command set
- Execute trouble shooting commands to identify slow network sessions and bottlenecks
- The ability to rationalize the impact of multiple concurrent issues/requests and prioritize work accordingly
- An independent sense of motivation to continuously improve themselves and their environment
- An intuitive problem-solving ability which leads to solution alternatives that reflect a diverse foundation of knowledge, skills and experiences
- The confidence, focus, and adaptable communication style required to effectively coordinate restoration efforts for high-impact technology incidents
- Manage issues by communicating to relevant stake holders through normal communication channels, raising incidents and problem records.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders, application development personnel, and infrastructure contacts
- Troubleshooting of complex system issues
- Proactive identification and resolution of problem hotspots
- Development of tools and driving efficiency/stability improvements
- Accurate tracking of support effort to enable effective management reporting Middleware
- Well-rounded understanding of infrastructure disciplines (network, server, storage, messaging)
- Relevant areas of business expertise would include: Product knowledge - Equities & Banking business
- Strives to bring new thoughts and ideas to teams in order to drive innovation and unique solutions
- Excels in working among diverse viewpoints to determine the best path forward
- Experience in connecting with a diverse set of clients to understand future business needs - is a continuous learner
