Duration: 6-12 Months Contract (possible extension)

Location: Buffalo, NY (100% remote with option to return to the office in Buffalo)

Role: COBOL Developer with DataStage Knowledge

Primary Skills: Cobol

Role Description: The

COBOL Developer must have at least 5+ years of experience. For this role, you must have Cobol/DataStage knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.

Required Qualifications: - Must be an experienced Cobol Developer; be able to analyze existing systems and programs to determine how/what changes that need to be made. - Must be able to code and test the changes which includes obtaining, mocking up test data and be capable of using the tools required to test the changes. - Change descriptions and requirements come in the form of BCRs (Business Change Requests) & PCRs (Project Change Requests) which a word-based requirement documents, which are currently in the process of being moved to JIRA. As such a basic knowledge of both JIRA and Confluence is a required attribute. - Must also be able to work though these requirement documents and engage the Business when necessary, to work through any needed clarifications. - To a lesser extent, a working knowledge of Data Stage is desired, the above mentioned processes apply, the only difference being changes will be coded and tested in Data Stage.

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent.
