Job Details:Title: Facilities Support Engineer Location: Buffalo, NY Duration: 4 yearsDays/Shifts: Saturday/Sunday/Variable Job Description: ) General cleaning duties in the Power Plant; ) Working directly with Facilities staff to perform elements of preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and systems; ) Performing measurements, taking samples, reading gauges, checking field conditions, written documentation of field or other conditions; ) Writing information to complete reports or portions of reports; ) Perform math calculations; ) Create technical schematics to describe facilities systems; ) Create labels, tags, and other identification devices; ) Painting; ) Complete tasks as directed by Facilities Management. Minimum Qualifications:) Entry-level position for prospective engineering students; ) Enrolled full-time in, and currently attending, a two-or-four-year college-accredited technical degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology; ) Enrolled full-time in and currently attending, first two years as an undeclared major but with demonstrated capability and interest in an engineering track and/or facilities emphasis; ) Enrolled as a senior in high school with Guidance Counsellor positive reference and demonstrated capability and interest in an engineering track and/or facilities emphasis; ) Capable of lifting 50 pounds, working in temperatures from below freezing to greater than 100F, working around heavy or industrial equipment, loud environments, wearing personal protective equipment, using hand tools, following directions, climbing ladders, extensive walking, having reliable transportation to arrive at work on schedule; ) Interpersonal skills of pleasant demeanor, cooperative, shows a willingness to learn from investigating, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and hands-on work; ) Demonstrated computer and math calculation skills such as spreadsheets, word-processing, basic programming, etc Preferred Qualification:) Previous or existing work experience that RPCI determines commensurate with the goal of preparing the candidate for a Facilities Systems Engineer I hire after college graduation; ) Previous experience at steam or chilled water plant; ) Built computers; ) Home remodeling, automobile maintenance, skilled trade experience, and other "hands-on" experience aligning with the needs of this position; ) Evidence that candidate has/had involvement in activities of a leadership or project management roleVacancy expired!
