Millwrights Local 1163 is accepting applications for it's NYS Certified 4 year apprenticeship program.
What the hell is a Millwright you ask. A Millwright is a highly trained Industrial mechanic. We install, repair, diagnose and maintain all types of industrial equipment including gas, steam and hydro turbines, generators, pumps, conveyors, paper machines, presses, compressors and much more.
We service many types of industries including power generation, automotive, aerospace, food processing, lumber, pulp and paper, material handling, mining, petrochemical, steel and alloys, pharmaceuticals, and mechanical construction.
Some of the skills needed to be a Millwright include welding and fabricating, alignment, rigging, machining and ability to work with precision to within a thousandth of an inch.

Minimum Requirements are:
18 years or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be physically able to perform the work of a Millwright
Must live in the physical jurisdiction of local 1163(50 upstate counties of NY)
Pass a drug test
Reliable transportation
Ability to work in various conditions(heat,cold,heights,confined spaces)
Ability to carry 50 lbs
Must take the UBC Qualifying Math and Measuring test
Applications are accepted every day, except holidays, from 9 am - 1 pm at the
Jamestown Career Center
