Recently named a Forbes America's Best-In-State Employer 2022! $10,000.00 SIGN-ON BONUS Available (connect with our Talent Acquisition team on eligibility requirements) What you'll do The Telemetry Monitor Technician will work Full time, Days and will provide constant surveillance of monitored patients’ cardiac rhythm status, under the direction of the professional nursing staff. Documents, reports and stores information as appropriate. Reports rhythm disturbances to the appropriated nursing personnel in a timely manner to ensure patient safety. The Telemetry Monitor Technician maintains constant surveillance of monitored patients. Keeps nursing staff informed of patients’ rhythm status and any irregularities of changes. Reports rhythm status to nursing personnel appropriately, including immediate and appropriate response to potential life-threatening situations. The Telemetry Monitor Technician gives and receives report on each patients’ rhythm status. Displays a working understanding of monitoring equipment. Demonstrates competence in use of the monitoring equipment. Reports technical monitoring difficulties and problems to appropriate personnel. The Telemetry Monitor Technician demonstrates effective communication skills. Notifies nurses appropriately about any significant cardiac rate or rhythm changes or alarm violations (including notification of alarms for all physiologic parameters being monitored). Responds appropriately to all alarms. Alerts nursing staff with the appropriate urgency required by the level of the alarm. Communicates clearly and effectively with members of the health care team, patients and families, and other personnel. Acts with diplomacy and courtesy with all personnel, relaying factual information pertinent to a given situation. The Telemetry Monitor Technician demonstrates professional behavior in the work setting. Consistently provides continuous observation of monitors and assures that another qualified individual assumes this responsibility when duties require leaving the monitor bank. The Telemetry Monitor Technician accepts constructive criticism and makes changes, if necessary, in performance. Attempts to resolve problems on a one-on-one basis. Follows appropriate lines of communication in relation to problems encountered. The Telemetry Monitor Technician requests information and seeks assistance from appropriate resources. Assists in the orientation of new monitor technicians and the training of other health care professionals. Performs other duties as requested and observed by manager or supervisor What we need from you Education/Qualifications: High school diploma OR equivalent highly preferred Experience: Basic skills in math, reading and writing English required. One-year previous health related experience preferred. Previous experience in cardiac monitoring in an acute care facility preferred. Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking or standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Occasional grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing. Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, talking, walking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception). Hazards: Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure. Travel: No travel required. Pay Range Minimum USD $16.65/Hr. Pay Range Maximum USD $24.97/Hr.
