1: BS degree in Engineering2: Depth of understanding achieved through experience in the design, analysis, and development of complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical, or electropneumatic servomechanisms3: Proven record of successful development programs working as a part of a project team4: This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.In the early stages of a new program, the Staff Project Engineer will consult with the customer, establish the problem statement, conceive of potential hardware solutions to the problem, often through extensive trade studies, and then lead a team to create a successful technical proposal. This phase is critical in that it establishes the basis for future design, and for contract negotiationsDuring the design and development phase the Staff Project Engineer will guide the evolution of the conceptual design, and serve as focal point for customer communications. This person is responsible for all aspects of technical project planning. Their primary concern is for system or component performance and integration, so he/she will initiate or carry out whatever analysis tasks are necessary to ensure specification performance compliance. These could include computer dynamic modeling, error analysis, transient failure behavior analysis, and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)While a Staff Project Engineer often works leading a project team, he/she might work independently on certain projects. In these cases the incumbent would be called upon when a high degree of foresight and creativity are necessary to anticipate and solve unprecedented engineering problems. Also, he/she independently selects and carries out specialized research to further the company's objectivesThe Staff Project Engineer is responsible for communicating with the involved Division support personnel, keeping them informed of progress and educating them on the operation and performance of the design. He/She must frequently solicit their aid and support to achieve difficult schedule objectivesThis individual will be seen by customers as the responsible technical representative of the company and as a recognized authority and leader in a broad area of specialization or in a narrow but intensely specialized field. Thus, he/she must be able to communicate fluently to a wide variety of audiences. He/She will be required to travel frequently and organize and make presentations to customers. The incumbent initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of outside organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities== Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel.== Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.== Prepare successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and shoulder the responsibility for writing the technical volume.== Provide effective, compassionate project leadership to a team of creative, independent individuals.== Independently initiate and perform specialized research.== Represent our company in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.== Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program.== Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.== Consult on new product and market development efforts.== Assist in interviewing, training, and counseling junior engineers.
