Randstad Engineering Solutions is looking for qualified embedded engineers to join our Verification team to Verify embedded SW/HW for a C-130J Mission Computer. Experience in the avionics industry is preferable, although equivalent experience in other safety critical domains (like automotive, healthcare, etc.) will be considered. This is an opportunity to expand your knowledge of full life cycle development, and get introduced with new technologies.

Job Description:

We are looking for embedded software or electrical engineers with experience verifying embedded real time software for aerospace. The candidates should have experience working with HW / SW interfaces, including verification/validation/integration of device drivers, board support packages (BSP) and or hardware abstraction layers (HAL) for custom and commercial RTOS, preferably on ARM and/or PPC architectures. Engineers with experience in the avionics industry would be preferred, but experience in other safety critical domains will be considered as well.

The candidates are expected to:

Have extensive experience verifying software that interfaces directly with hardware and firmware.

Develop Tests for device drivers for a variety of interfaces

Develop requirements and test description documents to support safety critical applications (DO-178C DAL A or similar).

Experience in Power On and Continuous Built In Test methodologies. Experience on ATP testing would be a plus.

Be an expert in C and assembly programming (ARM and / or PPC).

Have knowledge of scripting languages for test development (Python, VBS, JS or similar).

Have experience with typical components found in a real time platforms and microprocessor associated components (timers, schedulers, partitioning, memory management, MMU, etc.),

Good understanding of user vs hypervisor modes

Have experience in hardware / software integration and hardware bring up.

Remote work is possible, although some travel might be required to support integration & testing of parts of the products in the labs located in Endicott, NY.

The candidates will work on export controlled projects and shall be able to access ITAR facilities (no clearance required at this time, but should be able to obtain it).

Development Processes: Structured (e.g. DO-178B like), DO-178C / DO 331

Development Environment: Dev Environments for ARM / PPC, Synergy, Git, DOORs, Jira

Other: May need to travel to support integration / testing

Other: Able to work in export-controlled environments

Communication Skills:

- Good communication skills to work with multiple teams and in a remote environment

Leadership Skills:

Mentor / strong collaboration with other engineers

Required Skills:

Verification/troubleshooting experience for real time embedded software components

Verification/troubleshooting experience for new hw content on existing real time embedded systems

Experience creating/verifying embedded SW/HW requirements

Experience in structured development/verification environments / safety critical Systems (avionics, automotive, healthcare)

These would be a plus:

Experience with scripting languages for test procedures (Python, JS)

Experience with DO-178B/C, DO-331. Experience in other safety-critical domains could be acceptable.
