Software Test Engineer opportunity at their large facility in the southern portion of upstate NY. Working within the dynamic embedded software team will apply their knowledge and experience to product portfolio current and future needs. Will execute all levels of testing (system, integration, unit and regression) to detect and track defects, performance issues and inconsistencies. Will analyze and modify current testing processes and procedures to ensure a streamlined process and to automate processes where possible utilizing automated tools. May conduct software/firmware compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems or network environments. Will ensure that each stage of the test plan is executed. Will develop accurate reports and document test results for various stakeholders. May perform vehicle testing / troubleshooting, bench testing / troubleshooting. May perform defect reproduction, verification of fixed / resolved issues, developer support. May also assist in design and review of requirement specifications. There is a profit sharing plan that has been averaging 7% over a number of years.- At least an associate degree is required
- Could be someone entry level or with experience as well as someone in accounting that has an interest in this area
- Very good attention to detail is needed and someone motivated to learn
- Experience with at least 1 programming language is needed and prefer it to be C, C, Matlab or LabView
- Other qualities needed are someone who is self-motivated, data-driven, inquisitive, team player, and flexible
- Must be able to plan, organize and carry out technical activities
- Need ability to present technical material to technically diverse audiences
- Embedded software development toolchains also preferred such as Simulink, StateFlow, PolySpace, VectorCast
- Prefer CANoe and CANalyzer experience
- Familiarity with some of the following tools: Veristand, cRIO, PXI, dSPACE, R, Python
