Laborer

Job Description

The general laborer is responsible for performing facility cleaning and maintenance and material processing line work in a safe and efficient manner. Material processing line work includes ensuring unacceptable materials are removed from a sorting line.

• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.
• Remove paper, plastic, and metal contaminants from materials on the processing line.
• Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.
• Perform minor preventative and other maintenance on equipment.
• Clean facility grounds and equipment as scheduled or necessary.
• Maintain clean work area and excellent safety and attendance record.

This position requires the ability to work overtime and various shifts which may include weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic knowledge of equipment inspection
• Ability to communicate and document inspections
• Ability to work independently in a safe and efficient manner and follow safety policies and procedures
