Job Purpose:We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join the NAM Rates Valuation Control team.The Valuation Control team is a key function within the Finance Controller’s Division, providing important independent oversight regarding valuations.This role is responsible for all aspects of valuation control, including calculation of price verification results, determination of valuation adjustments, validation of model inputs, interpretation of results, and reporting to key stakeholders.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of analysts; including staffing, onboarding, performance assessment, career feedback and providing development opportunities.The role requires a strong governance mind set, ensuring methodological consistency implemented in a well-documented and operationally sound framework.The successful candidate will be able to interact effectively with senior management, traders and quantitative specialists, auditors and regulators.Job Background / Context:VCG is organized along business lines. Clients of the group include Business Heads, Product Control, Market Risk, Model Risk, Compliance, Legal, Middle Office, Internal Audit, external audit firms and multiple regulatory bodies.VCG collaborates closely with its client base to ensure complete understanding of business valuation issues, and ultimately, to ensure accurate execution of valuation control policy.Key Responsibilities:People Management and LeadershipStrong team leadership characteristics, maintaining a clear structure of accountability

Ability to influence regional IPV leads (within the Rates VCG team) and global internal partners (trading business, risk) as part of the global champion role

Good communication skills, driving and communicating initiatives across the global VCG Rates team

Excellent project management skills, driving change and managing projects effectively

Key player in setting the team’s direction, goals and objectives

Leading and guiding the team in identifying valuation issues

Constructively challenges Front Office valuations while building and maintaining these relationships

Knowledge/ExperienceFinancial markets experience and products knowledge, including technical understanding of interest rate derivatives and bonds are a plus

Strong working knowledge of Excel functions

Ability to develop an understanding of complex valuation concepts and effectively challenge peers

QualificationsBachelor’s degree required in Finance, Accounting or other business-related field of study

3+ years of professional experience in Finance or related quantitative field
