Our Wheelabrator Hudson Falls, NY facility is currently looking for an energetic hardworking Laborer to perform minor repairs on equipment, and maintains records, receipts. This position will complete inspections as needed, performs cleaning functions and operate and maintain mobile equipment. Duties may include but are not limited to sweeping, shoveling, painting, housekeeping, and some minor repairs of equipment. Completes inspections as assigned.
Experience:
Must have at least six months of experience working in an industrial setting, construction, farming or serving in a branch of the armed forces in a capacity of operating equipment or utilizing industrial tools or equipment.
Must be able to perform the following duties:
Open vessels and equipment access doors
Placing and removing furnace access equipment
Placing and removing overhead protection and staging equipment
Physical Demands include but is not limited to:
Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skills
Reach with hands and arms
Climb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feet
Access confined spaces and pressure vessels through standard 12" by 16" manways
Operate a 1.5 inch fire hose operating at 125 PSI line pressure to the extent required to extinguish fire
Operate fire extinguishing equipment ranging from hand held extinguishers to 200 lbs. portable units
