Position Overview :
Design, layout and produce prepress graphics and text per jobs specifications/requirements accurately and effectively.
Prepare and send jobs to output equipment
Primary Responsibilities :
Manipulate and convert files as needed (Adobe, Microsoft and other programs).
Schedule and perform all work to meet customer requirements in a timely and efficient manner according to the schedule and workflow priorities.
Operate and maintain prepress computers, printers, scanners
Be proficient in the current technology for creating and manipulating graphics, documents and digital files utilizing existing equipment and materials.
Submit proofs to clients
Pre-flight customers files for potential problems.
Output digital files per job specifications and according to the various production equipment and methods.
Other Responsibilities :
Enter proofs and update Order management Software to reflect current workflow
Coordinate with other staff members to ensure that work meets their expectations/ requirements.
Reject poor quality or incorrect jobs and notify management.
Organize and maintain clean and orderly work area
Qualifications/Skills/Experience :
Two years education in graphic design
Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator
Working understanding of dual platform, applications, such as: InDesign, Illustrator , Photoshop
Knowledge of PDF and postscript files and PDF plug-ins.
General knowledge of utility programs such as file compression, disk repair and print spoolers.
Ability to prepare files for output to film, plate, spot and 4-color process, receive and manipulate files electronically and maintain operating system on production machine
Proven ability in proofreading and editing.
Intensive computer work and extended use of the computer keyboard and mouse. Subject to frequent priority changes where a fast-pace and short notice occur regularly.
