A New York City government agency, located in Long Island City, NY is looking for a Financial Data Analyst for a long term contract.

Candidates should be local and willing to work on site. This position will be on site in Long Island City, NY. To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to abide by the Order of the Commissioner of Health and Mental Hygiene which requires COVID-19 Vaccination for Department of Education Employees, Contractors, Visitors, and Others. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, advanced analytics and delivering actionable insights from data
  • Understands data relationships with strong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong knowledge/experience with SQL and excel
  • Experience with Oracle databases, Microsoft SQL server, Crystal Reports, R, Power Bi, and Oracle Financials is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial analyses/reports using Oracle SQL, Excel, and Crystal Reports
  • Develops complex queries/scripts and automates periodic reports
  • Using Data warehouse and other Oracle tables, prepares presentation quality reports and analyses
  • Analyzes financial data stored in Oracle Financial Systems
  • Works to ensure integration of accurate and complete data sources
  • Performs effective presentations on complex ideas that can be communicated in a simple straightforward manner
  • Writes policies/procedures and documents methodologies used to create analyses
  • Financial Data Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing and collaborating on reports/analyses within the Finance Division which will include: Job-Costing Analysis, Soft-Cost Analysis, Completion Cost analysis, and other legally-mandated reports.
