Barnwell House of Tires, the region's leading distributor, retailer, and manufacturer of tires with locations on Long Island, in New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut is expanding its staff in all locations!
The Tire Service/Sales Associate will be responsible for assisting customers in purchasing needed parts and supplies.
The candidate's responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Conferring with customers or service advisors to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and discuss work to be performed as well as future repair requirements
Acting as a liaison between the client, management and technicians
Taking the lead with the first line of problem resolution
Providing price quotes and other information
Tracking incoming and outgoing tire/parts for location
Locating available parts when the location is out of stock
Handling payment collection and making sure all items are billed correctly
Utilizing the cash register to collect payment
Stocking and maintaining the showroom to meet company standards
To be successful, the incumbent must have:
2+ years' heavy-duty parts counter experience/auto parts advisor role. Construction or commercial/retail tire experience preferred.
Knowledge of automotive and/or construction tools and equipment
General knowledge on warranty periods and guidelines
Experience in operating a computer with multiple computer programs
Valid and clean driver's license
Ability and willingness to undergo a drug test and background check
Availability to work Monday through Saturday with one day off during the week or rotating Saturdays
Salary will commensurate with experience.
