Summary of Role\: Playing an essential role in GF's IT technology transformation, the Enterprise Cloud Architect will be based out of the US location (Malta NY or Austin TX) and will be responsible for overseeing cloud architecture for global locations GLOBALFOUNDRIES. This includes the ongoing development of GF's platform centric technology strategy, optimization and operationalization of cloud services across IT business units and providing required architecture assistance to the various IT and Business Domains. The position requires and strong working knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, cloud security and data architecture/data warehousing Essential Responsibilities include\:

  • Essential Responsibilities include\:
  • Influence cloud strategy and drive transformation\: By partnering with business and IT leadership, and through the rationalization of the business and manufacturing applications, the cloud architect will provide strategic platform roadmaps to promote and maximize the value of cloud services via their creation, risk mitigation, integration, operation automation and governance.
  • Maximize value derived from cloud services\: Foster value creation and waste reduction through the adoption of native cloud architecture, autoscale and managed cloud services
  • Enable effective cloud services governance\: Outline best practices for cloud solution design, system integrations, risk mitigation and application development practices and service management.
  • Secure cloud services\: Aid in the analysis of cloud service security requirements and solutions, and work with the chief information security officer (CISO) and domain teams to ensure that cloud services are secure
  • Lead cloud architecture collaboration\: Collaborate with domain leaders, application and data architects, application developers, infrastructure and operations teams, to lead cloud service center of excellence.

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Qualification: Required Qualifications\:
  • Education\: A bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, information systems or a related study.
  • Experience\:
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 6 years in cloud system design
    • In-depth experience of designing and implementing cloud solutions including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
    • Significant Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud architecture
    • Strong understanding of cloud security as well as data warehouse (Snowflake, RedShift) and business systems architecture, AI and ML
    • Experience with the semiconductor or manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications\:
  • Effective conceptualization, pattern recognition and teaming skills.
  • Business acumen, and the ability to communicate to executives, business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike.
  • Understanding of leading cloud services platforms and cloud adoption approaches.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, as well as network and information security practices.
  • Certification of leading cloud service platforms
