Summary of Role\: GlobalFoundries Fab8 is seeking a highly motivated CVD Equipment Engineer Intern to help drive engineering projects at our 300mm factory in Malta, New York. This position will be located at GlobalFoundries in Malta New York, and report to the Fab8 Equipment/Maintenance Manager with the primary responsibility of helping drive overall equipment improvement as assigned by the Manager. Essential Responsibilities include\: In your role as Equipment Engineer Intern you will be working with an assigned Equipment Engineer to\:
  • Reduce variability in the equipment performance
  • Increase effectiveness of F8 maintenance procedures
  • Increase the ability to detect problems earlier, enhancement in LOD
  • Reduce cost of maintenance
  • Standardize procedures across like equipment
Other Responsibilities\:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Qualification: Required Qualifications\:
  • Education\: Junior or graduating senior enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing or closely related discipline
  • Years of Experience\: Any experience demonstrating teamwork, communication skills and task management
  • Please indicate % of travel\: Car travel to northeast GF sites
  • Fluency in English Language - written & verbal
  • Physical Capacity Demands - Must be able to work per semiconductor industry and GlobalFoundries protocol/requirements, wearing all required clean room protective clothing and equipment
Preferred Qualifications\:
  • Knowledge of structured problem solving
  • Hands on maintenance type activities
