This position will be based at our state-of-the-art 300mm Wafer Fab in Malta., NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for fault isolation on products and IP blocks during the ramp up and sustaining of advanced technology nodes on GLOBALFOUNDRIES' strategic roadmap. The candidate will support Complex Analysis for these technologies in the new Fab 8 in Malta NY. Support of multiple products in a foundry environment will be required. Essential Responsibilities Include\:

  • Electrical fault isolation\:
    • Dynamic failure isolation using emission microscopy or laser stimulation
    • Failure characterization & yield data analysis
    • Workflow automation using scripting languages
    • Drive tool vendor collaboration to develop state-of-the art tools
  • Product and layout study\:
    • Detailed semiconductor product and circuit layout study
    • Understand circuit function and relate to failure signatures
    • Generate report and highlight key issues
  • Scan yield analysis, correlation and characterization\:
    • Yield analysis & correlation with functional & memory testing results, process experiments, electrical test data, inline
  • Parametric data, defect data, as well as product, layout and circuit design to identify the cause of yield killers\:
    • Statistical data analysis
    • Generate statement of work
Other Responsibilities\:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Qualification: Required Qualifications\:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or Related Discipline
  • 2 years of work experience or relevant course experience
  • Lab experience\:
    • Familiar with fault isolation and/or wafer test equipment
    • Knowledge of semiconductor physics and fundamental of optics
  • Semiconductor experience\:
    • Product testing, circuit design, failure analysis
    • Knowledge of semiconductor physics and fundamentals of optics
    • Layout navigation and basic circuit schematics understanding
    • Data analysis and basic programming skills in Python, Perl, or Java
  • Travel Requirements\: International and Domestic as Needed
  • Language Fluency\: English (Written & Verbal)
Preferred Qualifications\:
  • Master's and PhD Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or Related Discipline
  • Possess good working attitude and willing to take ownership in projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with different cultures
  • Good problem-solving skills, communication ability, team spirit, active learning attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
