Summary of Role\: GlobalFoundries has a 2021 Internship Position available at the Malta, NY site for a Manufacturing Systems Engineer intern. As a member of the Manufacturing Operations team you will be working on analyzing operator/factory workflow and driving manufacturing efficiencies through factory systems, partnering with module engineering teams to identify and implement productivity improvements, and working on factory automation projects. This position is for a candidate that will graduate and be ready to enter the workforce within the next two years. This candidate must be enrolled in a BS/MS in Computer Science / Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline. Successful candidates will be comfortable leading improvement projects and working on a diverse team in a manufacturing environment. They will work in a dynamic collaborative environment requiring strong teaming skills with engineers, managers, technicians and production employees. Qualification: Required Qualifications\:

  • Strong Academic Standing
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Engineering Candidate entering Senior or Junior year in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 6 months programming experience with Python
Preferred Qualifications\:
  • Semiconductor Process Technology courses/experience
  • Experience using Python-based machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience using Google/Microsoft collaboration tools (VBA, Google scripting)
  • Experience implementing productivity/efficiency improvements and working knowledge factory automation
  • IT skills to support data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with Lean methodologies
  • Project management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated; able to take ownership of assignments, develop work plans and proactively seek feedback to ensure objectives are aligned and met.
  • Team player; able to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
