Position Summary:We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Registered Nurse- Cardiac Cath Lab- Full- Time, DayOn Call Required. In this role, the successful candidate Works collaboratively with the Nurse Manager and is responsible and accountable for establishing and maintaining standards, the delivery of patient care, directing and facilitating work performance of all personnel on a defined patient care area and maximizes patient outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Assists the Nurse Manager in establishing, monitoring and evaluating standards of patient care specific to the individual patient care unit focusing on measurable outcomes. Engages in proactive unit rounds, and appropriate referrals as needed. Utilizes patient experience scores and other initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, utilizes Quality Scorecard to improve performance in timely manner. Participates and/or promotes multidisciplinary process improvement activities for unit specific and hospital wide initiatives.
    • Participates in multidisciplinary rounds to facilitate unit throughput and communication with the team. Identifies pending discharges, facilitates and coordinates patient information and activities to expedite early, safe discharge.
    • Assesses patient; clinical status and attempts satisfactory resolution of patient clinical/ethical issues at point of care prior to escalating issues. Participates in and promotes problem solving in the work environment.
    • Evaluates patient progress toward health goals and modifies critical path or plan of care accordingly. Monitors compliance of unit nursing staff with variances in plan of care.
    • Develops, coordinates and provides direct care for specific patient assignment reflective of current and changing status of the patient. Includes patient/family in care planning.
    • Practices, facilitates and role models the principles of team building, delegation and communication. Flexibly coordinates activities of the unit and matches appropriate skills of staff with appropriate patient care needs.
    • Monitors and evaluates the use of supplies, materials and other resources to reduce costs and increase efficiencies. Works to provide adequate staffing levels on each shift.
    • Assists staff with developmental plan for professional growth. Assists the Nurse Manager with the orientation process of new employees including unit based and float pool staff as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree for all new hires and transfers effective 2/18/18. Registered Nurse License-NYS. Basic Life Support (BLS). Minimum 2 years of Clinical nursing experience in an acute environment. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills. Basic computer skills

Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS

Preferred Qualifications:1 - 2 years of Leadership or supervisory experience preferredCertification in clinical specialty preferred
