As an Embedded Software Engineer at Baxter, you will further our mission to empower clinicians and health systems with the tools to make a difference in patients and clinician's lives.

You will be responsible for performing software engineering analysis, design, and verification to requirements, for small to medium projects and/or designated segments of larger sophisticated projects.

This position works closely with domestic and international, multi-functional teams to provide software engineer support.

What you'll be doing

Working with R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Clinical, Patient Safety, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Assurance and Operations, you will participate as a core team member on new product Development and Sustaining Engineering efforts. You will provide sustainable strategies, process and tools enabling deliver and support of Baxter products and services by:
  • Applying technical proficiencies and knowledge to solve problems of a routine nature or improve upon exiting designs or processes in a broad area of assignments.
  • Designing and coordinating research and test to validate, analyze and tackle technical problems.
  • Documenting status and results accurately and succinctly, and with purpose.
  • Seeking guidance from more experienced individuals to improve quality of deliverables.
  • Applying effective technical knowledge to the development of embedded software.
  • Assisting in development of new technology, ideas, or processes.
  • Working collaboratively with R&D and cross-functional teams (internal and external) on projects relating to existing and new products.
  • Demonstrating high level of innovation and creativity.
  • Having the ability to share and transition knowledge to other individual/team members.

What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineer, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in embedded software/algorithm development and signal processing.
  • Experience with C/C in an embedded environment.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner with excitement and passion for this position with strong problem-solving skills!
  • Great teammate and ability to work with cross-functional departments.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.

Preferred:
  • Experience with C#
  • Experience with Image processing
  • Experience working in medical device or other regulated environment
  • Rudimentary hardware/circuit knowledge
