Position Overview: Design, develop, configure, test, document and maintain Rhapsody HL7 integration interfaces and technical solutions based on functional and business requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Planning: Requirements & Designa. Developing, testing, deploying, and evaluating appropriate interface solutions and ongoing maintenance needs for sustainable processes. Appropriately configuring systems to improve processes, add efficiencies, and promote patient safety.b. Ability to reverse engineer existing healthcare IT interfaces, capture relevant requirements and author message or interface specifications with minimal assistance.c. Become proficient with Healthcare integration standards like HL7 v2.x, v.3.x.2. Analytical Skillsa. Becoming proficient in department workflow and analyze opportunities to improve.b. Investigating processes to understand operations. Researching, analyzing and understanding workflows of end users.c. Identifying data validation risks and solutions/strategies.d. Assisting Business and Systems Analysts with business rule and data integration and requirements gathering.3. Deliverya. Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation.b. Implementation and configuration of Rhapsody Integration Engine and configuration of Interfaces, Routes and Communication Points as required.c. Reviewing architecture or solution design and providing feedback based on best practices, capabilities and standards-based industry norms.d. Researching technology and interface specifications/design required to help deliver optimal technical solutions which support the business objectives.e. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as requested by Supervisor(s).4. Support and Maintenancea. Maintaining and documenting Rhapsody Routes, Communication Point configurations and scripts to ensure proper versioning and control of product upgrades.b. After performing interface design and deployment work, ensuring that the interface is functioning properly and providing tuning and optimizing assistance as required.c. Resolving integration/mapping issues; methodically approaching problems or processes to troubleshoot and resolve; developing application and integrated test scripts; participating in thoroughly testing builds; providing rotational on-call support based upon application needs.Qualifications and Education:1. BA/BS in MIS, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business or a related field.2. Preferred 3 years of Healthcare integration experience using HL73. Strong written, communication and interpersonal skills.4. Ability to multi-task and manage several projects or tasks at one time.5. Expertise in HL7 v2.x is essential and v3.x desirable.6. Proven experience interfacing with systems including EHR/EMR/LIS/RIS/PACS/HIS.7. Prior experience with Rhapsody Integration Engine is preferred.8. Understanding of XML, RDBMS technologies (primarily SQL & Oracle) and JavaScript coding.9. Experience in documenting message specifications, as well as other interface requirements documentation.10. HL7 v2.x is preferred, X12 experience a bonus.11. SQL Query Writing, SQL Tuning a plus.Vacancy expired!
