Responsibilities:Senior BA with PM abilities to work in their Security Reference / Security Master group supporting their product offering. The product is a centralized reference data solution for managing security terms and conditions, and corporate actions. It consolidates multiple sources of reference data into a single “Prime Copy” database for centralized operational control and distribution to downstream systems.• Listed and OTC security types• Front-office trading systems• Market data and standardized adapters to industry leading market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Markit) and third-party products (e.g., Portfolio Master, Advent Geneva and Axys, SunGard VPM and Front Arena, Markit WSO, Eze OMS, Charles River Investment Management System)• Corporate actions and portfolio events (e.g., swap resets and payments, expirations, maturities, etc.)• Legal entity structures and impacts on exposure, risk, and compliance requirements• Data validation tools to track and monitor incomplete or inaccurate data• Integration with accounting, trading, risk and reporting applications.• Identify causes of poor data quality, assist in designing solutions and communicate findings to employees, management, and stakeholders• Serve as a project resource for both business and IT teams seeking knowledge and resolution of various data issues• Devise, coordinate, and conduct mass data-cleansing initiatives for the purpose of purging and eliminating corrupt or redundant information from databases.• Execute data validation, data integrity, data profiling, data auditing, and data gap analysis.• Design and develop processes to validate new data and changes in processes.• Establish processes to continuously monitor data quality. Ensure processes are in place to proactively detect, correct, and prevent invalid data values.• Design and implement data quality monitoring reports, alerts, processes and assist to organize governance.• Investigate data anomalies and proactively develop resolutions• Create business requirements documents and work closely with the development teams to ensure products meet business needs• Interface with teams comprised of developers (Perficient, Client and 3rd Party), business analysts and end clients• Create/contribute to business case development, requirements articulation, project/program planning, testing, training and ultimately helping to deliver technology solutions that support the security reference data platform• Use analytical and interpersonal skills, to reconcile conflicts, cope with rapidly changing information, convert high-level information into detailed requirements• Differentiate user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements• Identify, prioritize, production support and maintenance items with a risk-based mindset• Work with business owners to convert high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and prioritize requirements• Identify ways to assist business in product planning through requirements development/analysis• Maintain expert level of business functional knowledge and current technology• Communicate project information including approach, progress, forecasts, and issues to stakeholders in a timely and effective mannerQualifications:Experience with Security Reference DataExperience working with data provided by external providers - MarkItKnowledge in data quality management, experience in data analysis techniques and proficient in the use of Informatica data quality toolsExperience using data management techniques to improve data quality in the different systemsExperience in data quality analysis with a major consulting organization (focused on the financial industry); or, as a data analyst at a major financial institution.Knowledge of Master Data Management disciplines; including knowledge and/or experience in data profiling, data parsing and standardization, data lineage, and data cleansing and enrichment.Technical experience (need not be an expert but should have a good level of understanding) of:• Stored Procedures• Reference Data• Data mapping• Data Validation rules and logicAdvocate for simple, effective product designs to enable optimal customer experienceStrong analytical, technical, verbal, and written communication skillsHighly organized with the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks to successful completion
