Job Description:

The Cloud Ops team will work with internal partners to progress the Cloud program, enabling IT business teams to blueprint applications and modernize some or all components of their applications, reduce dependency on the legacy infrastructure and the overall datacenter footprint along with infrastructure costs to the business. This role requires proficient communication, as well as creative use of available tools to efficiently produce solutions in the cloud technology space.

THE DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide automation and process and system improvements within the Cloud space and consultancy services to other teams using technologies such as

    Ansible and Python.
  • Active collaboration with Global Operations and Engineering teams to implement key projects within Cloud environments.
  • Monitor, support and effectively develop/maintain robust scripts and tools to automate common tasks and resolve technical problems using Agile development methods.
  • Support the client's Hybrid Cloud environment - an internal Private Cloud and Public Cloud service. This is a global, 24x7 "Follow the Sun" (FTS) support model with regional teams based in the US, UK, India and Japan.
  • Provide on-call support; troubleshooting production issues and implementing infrastructure changes during weekends.
  • Provide assistance/support to transformation programs for application and services looking to move into the cloud environment.
  • Provide technical knowledge and support to the user community, comprised of infrastructure teams and application owners alike, to improve system resiliency.
  • Act with a sense of urgency, engage relevant parties to troubleshoot and investigate problems to reach a resolution.
  • Investigate and determine root causes for major incidents with vendors and internal infrastructure teams, providing a detailed RCA and plan for remediation.
  • Guidance/expertise for implementing application requirements, championing the use of best practices and Engineering recommendations.

THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB:
  • Strong Scripting and Source Control skills using

    Python, Bash, PowerShell
  • Strong knowledge of Linux;

    preferably Red Hat 7.x and above.
  • Strong knowledge of

    Ansible automation with experience of

    writing Playbooks.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, DNS, LDAP, TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of virtualization with good experience with VMware technology.
  • Experience using Devops based tools such as.

    Git,

    Ansible, puppet, Jenkins etc.
  • Experience with log manipulation tools such as Splunk and ELK

DESIRED:
  • Experience with automation technologies to build, deploy, and integrate both infrastructure and applications (e.g. Ansible), deploying with Jenkins and facilitating CICD pipelines.
  • Have supported products/technologies in a Private Cloud infrastructure.
  • Provided cloud delivery and deployment models for Infrastructure - IaaS, PaaS and SaaS offerings.
  • Experience in VMware virtualization, Red Hat Satellite administration, Red Hat Linux, Ansible implementation in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience of debugging, optimizing code, and automating routine tasks.
  • Experience with container strategies and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgement and maturity and Experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging technical environment, with the aim of producing meaningful results for the business.
