Looking for DevOps with strong working experience on AWS. We're looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to improve the reliability and stability of the platform. You will work with with the dev team and other stakeholders to mitigate issues related to data ingestion or end-user product experience and accomplish other DevOps tasks. This is our first DevOps hire (at the moment DevOps tasks are done by committee by the dev and data teams), so we expect you to establish a strong foundation for future DevOps work at the company. What you'll do: You will manage orchestration and deployment on AWS You will improve observability of our systems through monitoring and alerting You will prioritize keeping any dev and staging environments in a functional state You will take point on migrating the parts of our stack that are still on Heroku to AWS in Q2 2021 You will resolve issues that come up on production. You will also establish a set of best practices for handling issues in production for developers on PagerDuty rotation and future DevOps engineers Who you are: You have some AWS experience, even if the majority of your cloud experience is with another provider You are a creative and practical problem solver You have experience working at a startup You have Python and/or Typescript experience You take security seriously. When a vulnerability is discovered, you work with relevant parties to fix the issue, implement measures to mitigate the issue going forward, and conduct a post-mortem analysis responsibly and transparently.
