The Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) within BlackRock Solutions delivers actionable insights through our proficiency of Aladdin data, technology, and processes. Our team collaborates with investors, risk managers, portfolio consultants and Aladdin business teams to address client challenges with innovative technology solutions delivered with the scale of Aladdin across all asset classes and client segments. We ensure successful, high impact delivery of results aligned with our partners' priorities

We are seeking an Associate to join our Private Market Analytics Team in New York to deliver industry-leading private equity solutions for BlackRock and the Aladdin client community. You will be responsible for coordinating the design, build and deployment of new Private Equity Performance Analytics and Commitment Planning solutions on both eFront and Aladdin. The role requires close collaboration with financial modelers, software engineers and partner teams such as the BlackRock Alternative Investors, the Risk & Quantitative Analysis Group, and the Aladdin Business. You will apply your in-depth understanding of private market investment data with Aladdin's analytic platform capabilities to deliver innovative solutions that provide commercial value.Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with private market investment and risk management teams to incorporate research, data and analytic solution into workflows and decisions based on their needs
  • Build proof-of-concept analytic solutions and partner with Aladdin's software engineering teams to evolve them into scalable, commercial product offerings
  • Design and promote analytic solutions using data, financial models and platform functionality that are customizable to meet clients' needs. Ensure that we are adding scale and efficiency to our existing support capabilities
  • Apply strong project management skills to all product responsibilities: set agenda, drive tone, provide direction to individual team members, coordinate execution, and communicate out to partners
  • Serve as an ambassador for our solutions externally with clients in the Aladdin and eFront community and participate in business development activities
  • Build inclusive teams across the community of internal groups and influence key partners and project sponsors to achieve greater consensus
  • Respond to inquiries and improvement requests from clients and serve as the subject matter expert in internal & external client discussions
Qualifications
  • 3-6 years in a highly analytical role in a technology or financial services setting
  • Familiarity with private market investment & data solutions, such as Burgiss or Preqin is helpful
  • Strong critical thinking and confirmed experience using technology to solve problems at scale
  • Outstanding academic achievement, degree in business, computer science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics or other quantitative field of study
  • Relentless desire for understanding how processes work. Creativity in solving unconventional problems, entrepreneurial drive to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Solid understanding and experience with Python, SQL, and UNIX. Experience with PowerBI or Tableau is a plus
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey sophisticated concepts simply and clearly
  • Ability and willingness to learn fast, multi-task, self-motivate and pick up new things easily
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • Experience in product and project management is a plus. Ability to structure multiple communication streams and manage workflows, as well as time management skills are required
