Job DescriptionThe New York City Fire Pension Fund seeks a full-time experienced agency attorney in the Legal Division, reporting directly to the General Counsel. Under direct supervision, responsibilities will include performing complex legal analyses, reviewing and editing contracts, serving as agency’s Privacy Officer, evaluating policy issues and formulating legal opinions, verifying pleadings and acting as liaison to NYC Law Department, serving as agency’s Records Access Officer under FOIL, providing guidance regarding implementation of court orders including Domestic Relations Orders, reviewing and analyzing documents such as beneficiary designations, Powers of Attorney, wills, and affidavits, interacting with members of the Board of Trustees relative to disability applications and investment matters, providing daily legal guidance to agency staff, conducting legal research, interacting with legal staff of other City and State agencies, and performing duties of General Counsel in her absence.Qualifications

Admission to the New York State Bar; and either "2" or "3" below.

One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar; or

Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086).

Incumbents must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment. In addition to meeting the minimum Qualification Requirements: To be assigned to Assignment Level (AL) II, candidates must have one year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment.
