This is no small opportunity. This is where you can bring your compassion for others while building your career.This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (9:00am - 5:30pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 161 Canal Street, New York, NY.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise and customer service support to members, customers and/or providers
  • Serve as the liaison to a complex customer base to manage first level response and resolution of escalated issues with external and internal customers
  • Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment
  • Investigate claim and/or customer service issues as identified and communicate resolution to customers
  • Provide feedback to team members regarding improvement opportunities
This role is equally challenging and rewarding. Within a high volume environment, you'll need to model and act as an Ambassador for the company while solving complex health care inquires The Service Account Manager acts as a customer advocate to resolve escalated and complex issues. You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree (or higher) OR equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems
  • Bilingual (English/Chinese - Chinese Fuzhounesee, Chinese Mandarin AND Chinese Cantonese)
  • Proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Microsoft Word (create document) and Microsoft Excel (formulas)
  • You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role
  • Employees are

    required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.

  • Ability to multi-task including the ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product
