Hi,My name is Eric Jones. I'm a recruiter with a staffing firm called Eclaro. Our client in New York, NY is looking Business Analyst (Collibra / Life Insurance). This is a 12 months contract with possible extension. We are looking for Business Analyst (Collibra / Life Insurance) The Data Strategy, Governance and Enablement team creates and provides data products and services that enable the business to make better-informed and timely business and strategic decisions. It also leads enterprise-wide data governance initiatives to curate and standardize key datasets and designs and implements data management initiatives.
The team is in search of a strong business analyst to support client’s enterprise-wide data management and governance initiatives called Data Experience Program. The candidate will work closely with the business subject matter experts (SMEs) and technology teams to make decisions impacting the management and governance of the company’s data going forward. The role will also include Data Strategy, Governance and Enablement team’s ongoing, agency-based initiatives, ultimately providing solutions to a wide range of internal stakeholders across the business.Note: This is an individual-contributor role. Also, while this is a Business-facing role, there will be heavy interaction with Technology teamsKey Responsibilities• Perform as a member of the Data Strategy, Governance, and Enablement team, with a concentration on the definition of the enterprise logical data model and the advancement of the data marketplace and metadata management capabilities• Collaborate with stakeholders from multiple disciplines to document, assess, influence, and synthesize business requirements to develop, enable, and advance data management capabilities• Manage project scope and schedule by coordinating with stakeholders on conceptual data model, logical data model design changes and developing business data glossaries including business definitions and business rules to support the logical and physical data model design• Translate data requirements into clearly defined and easily understood documents, including: business use cases, process flows, data flows, business rules, data definitions and process-to-data mapping diagrams etc.• Be the expert in the use of, establish standards for, configure, and provide training on data governance technologies with a concentration on the data glossary and catalog tool (Informatica Axon)• Work closely with the design and development team to ensure that the technology solution satisfies business requirements• Utilize the data quality technology (Informatica IDQ) to execute data profiles measuring the quality of data• Partner with QA team and SMEs to ensure adequate test coverage (relying on own knowledge, as well as facilitating conversations with SMEs, to identify additional test scenarios)• Develop candidate Key Performance Indicators and dashboards to measure the success and ROI of the data governance program with a concentration on the data glossary and catalog• Identify and lead the implementation of process improvements to speed development, reduce costs, and improve application quality• Maintain and promote key data deliverables/assets, including data policies, data standards, and data management roles and decision frameworks.• Interact with business and technical peers in the evaluation of emerging industry trends and technologies relevant to data managementEducation / TrainingRequired:• Bachelor’s degree; equivalent work experience acceptedPreferred:• M.B.A. or Master’s in Management or Technology; equivalent work experience acceptedPrevious Experience• 5+ years of life insurance experience performing business analysis with a concentration on information management• Experience using and supporting Data Quality Management tools (e.g. Collibra, Informatica, IBM, etc.), Data Catalog tools (e.g. IBM Business Glossary, Informatica, etc.), and Master Data Management tools (Informatica, Oracle, IBM, etc.)• Exposure to data warehousing, business intelligence/reporting, analytics, and data science• Experience making and delivering presentations to business and technical staff• Experience in leading change and managing transitions is highly desirable• Experience in the use of process and data modeling to represent current state and design of future state concept of operations is desirableRequired Skills / Knowledge• Strong ability to analyze business requirements, solve problems, and model current and future state business processes and data domains/entities• Curiosity and desire to question the status quo• Track record of innovation in the everyday, as well as development of breakthrough ideas• Strong technical proficiency and demonstrated ability with data management technologies such as data glossaries, data catalogs, data quality profiling tools, and master data management• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to break down project tasks, define project scope, plan and organize resources to complete projects on time and within budget• Demonstrated ability to collaborate, communicate, build relationships, mentor and influence a community of data professionals across lines of business and functional areas• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with all levels within the organization• Ability to tell a story through presentations, to motivate and influence adoption of new ideas and capabilities• Awareness of relevant and emerging financial services / insurance data standards a plus• Familiarity with IT functions and services• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple simultaneous priorities with limited supervision• Demonstrated ability to think end-to-end, connect moving parts, and anticipate and manage change impacts• Demonstrated knowledge of configuring and administering data catalog, data glossary, and data quality solutions• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint• Experience with visualization tools like Tableau is desirable• Experience executing projects using Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA is a plus• Experience with programming languages (SAS, SQL, Hive SQL, etc.) is a plusIf you are interested in this opportunity, please send me your updated resume in word format or call ASAP so that we can discuss it in more detail.
