- Gather and analyze business requirements and create functional and technical specifications
- Locate data sources and data elements required for business process automation
- Prepare technical data mapping documents from source files/tables to target
- Draft test cases for unit testing as well as integration testing and UAT
- Work closely with Finance users, SMEs, Project Managers, other Business Analysts, and IT Developers across a global team
- Create project plans and tracking progress; assessing and managing risks and issues
- Accountable for successful system delivery
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in Finance IT projects
- Strong understanding of SDLC best practices; experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience writing BRDs, FSDs and technical specifications
- Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation
- Experienced in writing SQL queries for data inspection and analysis (Oracle preferred)
- Knowledge of domestic and/or international Equity and Fixed Income products, Derivatives or Secured Financing transactions
- Understanding of Trade Lifecycle and relationship to accounting events
- Knowledge of Finance and Accounting, US GAAP for broker dealers (desired) familiarity with financial statements and processes including balance sheet presentation and P&L reconciliation and reporting
- Knowledge of accounting rules engines -including business event recognition, journal patterns, and automated journal creation is desired.
- Experience with GL systems and related processes (PeopleSoft GL is a plus)
