Our investment management client is looking for a Business Analyst for Portfolio and Risk Management. This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days a week in their office in the Midtown area of New York City. Candidates must be local to the New York City metropolitan area and authorized to work for any employer in the United States. The Business Analyst for Portfolio and Risk Management build and maintains core infrastructure for the Portfolio Management teams across all asset classes. You will apply your vision, creativity, leadership, drive and determination to define, design and help deliver the tools used globally by Portfolio and Risk Managers, helping drive efficiency and bring transparency to performance. You will execute tactical and strategic solutions to unify the view of Risk across front, middle, and back office functions. This position will grow your understanding of portfolio construction and buy-side research that offer essential insights into the constantly evolving state of raising alpha and managing risk.
- Salary: up to $130K
- Understand, translate, and convey the front office and investment teams' processes to development team
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure product plans fit the needs of investment teams, research, and risk user base
- Interact with other Development functions to ensure requirements are fully understood and estimated correctly and for consistency
- Help coordinate team participation in Scrum processes
- Produce release plans, participating in show and tells, and contribute to release communications
- Document requirements and processes, defining scopes and objectives of software development projects
- 3-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Asset Management, Capital Markets, and/or Fintech
- Experience with data analysis, financial analytics, and/or market data
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Problem-solving aptitude, the ability to distill problems into their simplest steps and find solutions
- BS/ BA required with a background in economics, finance, mathematics, or programming desired
- Willingness to learn new technical skills as well as a deep desire to learn more about the Financial Industry
