Our client, one of the top US investment banks, is seeking a Business Analyst 4 (Non IT)
Location: New York, NY Position Type: Contract Overview of department/team: PC Aligned Change (within the Finance Change function), delivers Strategic and Regulatory change programs globally for the Product Control Function. Once fully ramped, the PC Strategy program will have around 15 Finance Change staff sitting in New York, Raleigh, London and Poland Candidate Value Proposition: PC Reporting Role - exciting opportunity to work on the role out of strategic reporting and commentary solutions for the Global PC function, improving the PC function's capability to deliver contextual and fit for purpose results to stakeholders and significantly improve on-platform analytical capabilities. Job Summary: Both available roles are in the Finance Change function, specifically within the Product Control Aligned Change Portfolio. There are two projects forming part of the PC Strategy program, (i) P&L System Consolidation and (ii) PC Reporting. Both are strategic projects, with the former consolidating 3 legacy P&L systems onto a single strategic platform, and the latter providing strategic state reporting for Product Control users and stakeholders. We have an open role in both projects for experienced Business Analysts. Key Responsibilities: -As a business analyst on the PC Strategy program you will be expected to lead workstreams, working both independently and with a team to deliver the objectives of the program -You will be able to work perform key analysis tasks on the relevant data sets, business process and architecture to drive out a business solutions -You will be expected to translate the requirements of the business into epics and user stories for IT to be able to understand and build -You will perform functional testing and facilitate the user testing phases of IT built deliveries -You will coordinate user adoption of the strategic tools, ensuring that milestones are met Challenges contractor will be facing in role: -Clients and IT teams are located in numerous locations across the globe, so the candidate will need to be sensitive to working hours in different regions -The candidate will need to be adaptable in communication style, varying the level of output to meet different levels of seniority in the organization, i.e. working with junior line users, technical IT teams, and senior managers in Product Control Essential skills and qualifications: -PC Reporting Role - Experienced BA, ideally 8-12 years of experience minimum working in Global Investment Bank setting, having worked on delivering reporting projects for key management information and Finance data to a variety of internal and external stakeholders. -The candidate would be familiar with delivering both self-service and pre-canned reporting solutions, ensuring the solutions are performant and provide a high level of user experience. -The candidate will be able to understand and document business requirements and user stories in JIRA. -The candidate will be familiar with data security concepts and ensuring reports only provide data to users in line with their data entitlements. Desired skills and qualifications: -PC Reporting Role - Ideally familiar with the "Qlik" reporting and visualization software package. Ideally familiar with reporting over big data platforms.
