Our direct financials client in New York City is looking for a contract-to-hire Business / Program Manager in their Corporate & Financials Systems Technology Group. This role operates on a hybrid schedule with 2 days per week in the office. This is a senior director-level position - and will directly assist the Managing Director. Our client is unable to provide sponsorship at this time. Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and commuter benefits.

In this role you will assist in driving governance, effective communication, project execution, and Technology strategy across the Corporate and Finance Systems Technology. The ideal candidate is a leader who will create a sense of energy, ownership, detail orientation, collaboration, and personal commitment to the work. Key to the position are the abilities to execute and drive project deliverables, build strong client relationships, and create a sense of teamwork and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and ensure the standard project management governance methodology.
  • Ensure the validity and quality of the Project Scorecard.
  • Manage projects of varying magnitude and complexity.
  • Provide support to other PMs, including identifying and analyzing preliminary business requirements, resource estimates, defining project scope and business benefits, and getting business user sign-off.
  • Manage risk and drive risk mitigation plans.
  • Prepare for business stakeholder and Executive Leadership reviews.
  • Work with PMs to review project documents to ensure they are complete and accurate.
  • Govern the portfolio budget (run and build) for the organization.
  • Ensure correct tracking of time and reviews financials monthly to track spend to budget.
  • Prepare forecast analysis to leadership.
  • Participate in departmental strategic and budgetary planning processes.
  • Hold effective status meetings with team and communicate relevant information.
  • Apprise senior management of issues and concerns in a timely fashion.
  • Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
  • Promote and foster cross functional communication, connecting the dots between the Technology and business teams.
  • Assist in developing and evolving the Technology strategy supporting business goals
  • Spearhead location and resource strategy for organization, understanding the cultural differences.
  • Champion inclusion efforts.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years Leading technology projects including, project planning and tracking, estimating project costs, resource estimation and management, risk analysis, stakeholder relations, and status communication.
  • 10+ years demonstrated proficiency of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels across the firm.
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Able to be assertive when necessary and hold people accountable for achieving their goals.
  • Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-ranged goals
  • Skilled in examining and re-engineering procedures and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment.
  • Advanced degree a huge plus
