Job Title:

BXTI Global Video Support, Engineer in Charge (EIC)

Job Description:

The Engineer in Charge is responsible for managing and overseeing all Operations, Preparedness, Maintenance of Equipment and Systems for the Blackstone Convene Event Center, with focus on high level customer service, responsiveness to business needs.

Ability to work independently and across groups to always ensure availability in a customer centric, high service level and continually evolving environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • EIC Executes Technical Aspects Show in partnership with Technical Director while ensuring business goals, deadlines, and performance standards are met.
  • Direct and supervise crew of technical execution employees in the performance of their respective responsibilities in accordance withorganization and department policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate all technical aspects of a Production including but not limited to, setup & tear down of production elements, testing and configuration of equipment.
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of all equipment needed to fulfill contracted elements to include audio, video and camera control set up and operation.
  • Supports, maintain & troubleshoot technical workflows alongside fellow engineers in maintenance and facility operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of testing and onsite quick reaction troubleshooting of copper, optical, and IP installations and associated hardware.
  • Able to fill and/or back up any position on the crew required.
  • Report equipment failures and needed repairs. Post technical reports within 12 hours of event completion.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the assigned event or show.
  • Maintain dialogue with management on all show or crew changes.
  • Assign tasks to onsite and remote crew.
  • Be willing to advise and suggest on IP technical workflows that can enhance productivity, and workflow efficiency.
  • Must have the ability to pick up new concepts in a rapid manner and work closely with colleagues for long periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Technical or B.S./Electronics field or Engineering preferred, however various combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Detailed understanding of IT Networking and Systems, Firewalls, Fiber-Optics, TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP and Active Directory.
  • CTS Certification or CTS-D Preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in television & live production technology with progressive managerial responsibility.
  • Knowledge of production systems, specifically Ross, Evertz, Analog Way, Zoom, Epiphan, Telemetrics, Yamaha, Dante, SMPTE IP, RTS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology, equipment, facilities, and production for major commercial and production facilities.
  • Supervisory experience required, including project coordination and other related activity.
  • Ability to interface with clients and provide a high level of service and support.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task
