Description:The research assistant will play an important role. The Research Assistant will provide a full range of research related support, which will involve technical grant writing, developing presentations, conducting literature reviews, performing background research, composing research reports, writing press releases, and assisting with additional research activities. The research assistant will also be involved in field work activities, including canvassing, recruitment, screening for eligibility, obtaining informed consent, and data collection in New York City Housing Authority buildings in the South Bronx. Bronx residency is preferred.
Bachelor's degree is preferred.
At least two or more years' previous work experience providing research support preferred.
Strong writing skills preferred.
Grant writing and/or PowerPoint presentation development experience preferred.
Flexible schedule (including weekends) is preferred.
Understanding the importance of cultural humility is required.
Cultural competence in working with Latino and African American communities is preferred.
Strong commitment to working in communities with health disparities is preferred.
Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-focused environment, be motivated, be organized, be detail-oriented, be willing to work under the supervision of the Project Manager, and possess the necessary skills to complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
