Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Cloud Engineer for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in New York, NY. Responsibilities :
- The primary activities will be to build cloud infrastructure engineering capabilities and support administration of AWS environments.
- Plays a significant role in developing implementation strategy, building procedures/guidelines and providing insight into best practices.
- Work closely with NIT Partners and other Client entities to influence the implementation direction of Technology to meet New York priorities
- The Cloud Engineer will help develop and implement multi-account centralized AWS environmental strategy.
- Other responsibilities include but not limited to building highly available infrastructure model, implementing security best practices, designing enterprise monitoring and logging capabilities in alignment with AWS 5 pillar strategy
- 5 + years of managing enterprise infrastructure - Strong hands on experience on AWS
- Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation tools
- Extensive hands-on experience working with AWS Database services such as RDS/Aurora databases PostgreSQL, MySQL
- Extensive hands-on experience building data solutions with AWS Data and Analytics services such as Redshift, Athena, EMR, Glue, Lake Formation
- Strong working knowledge on data and analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake.
- Strong working knowledge on building data pipelines in a hybrid environments, driving automated build management with CI/CD and DevOps workflows.
- Lead operational implementation of cloud identity and access management solutions enforcing security guidelines.
- Demonstrated expertise in providing guidance, building highly available/fault-tolerant enterprise class infrastructure with multiple-region and multi AZ models.
- Demonstrated experience of migrating critical workloads to public cloud and providing on-going operational support.
- Serve as SME on building, implementing hybrid cloud architecture, Data Center Migrations strategy, Security & Compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in installing and managing systems, applications and environments on RedHat, Amazon Linux, Ubuntu and Windows platforms
