(SW) 2 TWU: $94,445 - $105,803 Computer Spec. (SW) 3 TWU: $101,991 - 115,061 Computer Spec. (SW) 4 TWU: $109,411 - $131,744 Responsibilities The selected candidate will perform information technology functions related to development and maintenance including coding and testing of the MTA's Train Control Systems. Train Control Systems for NYC Subway are complex and mission critical such as ATS-A, CBTCATS Canarsie and Flushing, ATS-B. The candidate will prepare and coordinate system deliverables for various products such as database and programming, system analysis, troubleshooting; modify system configuration settings; develop interfaces, prepare ad-hoc SQL queries/reports and investigate/address time sensitive production issues. The position will require supporting Train Control System for NYC Subway that are located mainly in RCC on a 24x7 basis. The candidate will adhere to MTA-IT standards and work with vendor teams to ensure compliance to those standards. The candidate will be work in all life cycle phases from acquisition to maintenance of Train Control systems. Education and Experience- At least 3+ years' experience designing, architecting, and implementing large-scale critical system.
- Major role in the development and administration of high transactional MS SQL database.
- Proficient in MS SQL development and tuning and normalization.
- MS SQL development including: packages, store procedures, triggers and query tuning.
- MS SQL client and server setup, configuration and performance monitoring.
- MS SQL administration and backup and recovery.
- Experience with MS SQL Replication.
- Proficient with SQL Enterprise features such as: Replication, Always On, etc.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and recover complex MS SQL issues.
- Experience in setup and administration and support of MS SQL data warehouse.
- Major role in the design and development of Oracle or Mongo database.
- Setup, tune and maintain mid-scale virtual environment on operating systems (i.e. Windows, Solaris, Linux).
- Experience with one or more MS SQL Enterprise features and performance monitoring.
- Experience working with Hypervisor-1 and Hypervisor-2 (i.e. ESX, Hyper-V, VMware, LDom, Zones, ZEN, KVM).
- Over 3+ years' experience in development using Java, .NET, C or C in a large team using distributed version control tool.
- Experience working with Agile, DevOps using different tools (Jira, Jenkins, Security Scan, Monitoring, Automation of testing and deployment pipelining) is a plus.
- Experience supporting 24x7 operations.
- Experience with High Availability systems.
