DescriptionThe Corporate Compliance Officer conducts operational, financial and compliance audits to determine the agency’s level of adherence with critical policies, procedures, and regulations. This position reports to the agency’s VP Corporate Compliance or their designee. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESConducts audits to assess compliance with critical policies, procedures and regulations.

Provides support to VP Corporate Compliance in development of annual audit and compliance review schedules, including recommendations related to risk-valued scheduling and setting of scheduling priorities.

Assists in resolving audit problems that occur and recommends appropriate modifications to coverage and schedules, as needed.

Ensures work papers are adequately documented and audit/compliance review evidence is sufficient, as well as prepares timely and accurate audit/compliance review reports.

Provides support on special investigations that may be requested to address selected audit and compliance issues and concerns within the agency, as needed.

Maintains ongoing topical knowledge of internal audit and compliance issues by keeping informed of emerging or changing legislative or regulatory requirements.

Assists VP Corporate Compliance in designing new audit tools and audit report formats.

As needed, participates in, and supports in the preparation for agency-wide Compliance Committee meetings.

Assists in the training of the new Corporate Compliance Officer(s) in review techniques, report writing, and interfacing with other departments.

As needed, support and/or facilitate agency orientation or other corporate compliance trainings.

Visit AHRC NYC locations on a regularly scheduled as well as spontaneous basis to complete compliance activities, including, but not limited to, reviews and investigations.

Scheduled as well as spontaneous in person meetings at main office.

Performs additional and related duties, as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSAn ideal candidate embraces and values generosity in their professional performance and in their interpersonal interactions with all stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.

Four or more years of experience in performing compliance and/or audit program reviews.

Proven competency in conducting reviews in Medicaid documentation, petty cash, residential personal/clothing allowances, and/or other organizational systems/processes.

Capacity to think strategically, as well as apply practical judgment in arriving at conclusions.

Ability to navigate technology to the extent needed to successfully complete compliance tasks including but not limited to reviews and investigations remotely as needed.

Strong, effective writing and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.

Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with all levels of department personnel and with colleagues within the agency.

Flexibility to operate in a rapidly-changing work environment, with ability to adapt and be sensitive to organizational culture.

Possesses professional integrity, independent thinking skills and commitment to objectivity.

Demonstrable passion for the agency’s mission.
