The US Consumer Analytics (USCA) Decision Science team develops statistical tools and tool-driven strategies for programs in the Cards, Retail, and Mortgage Banks.Within USCA, the Pricing Optimization group focuses on building tools that can be used to recommend and/or craft winning price strategies, in the context of macroeconomic, competitive, and other complex external phenomena.This role will be filled by an experienced professional who contributes to solution delivery, construction, and strategy. The role requires technical authority, commercial awareness, and some subject matter expertise. Highly developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, especially in developing and socializing novel tools and solutions.Responsibilities:Serve as both a technical expert in support of modeling and tool-building activities; as well as a consultative partner in direct and frequent contact with stakeholders across the bank
Be a go-to resource for configuration and execution questions about pricing optimization, modeling, and price-setting
Support pricing optimization, elasticity analysis, tool building, and other technical initiatives
Mine historical data on business trends and performance to identify the most effective modeling and ML approaches/solutions and to craft suitable optimization solvers
Build elasticity models that capture critical predictive relationships and which can be used to accurately and reasonably project future trends
Work with technology team to craft the structural elements of bespoke standalone in-house modeling & optimization tool
Take advantage of next-gen computational solutions such as In-Database Computing, Python, H2O, Microsoft Azure, and AutoML
Qualifications:4-6 years of experience in a quantitative field; consumer finance and/or consulting background preferred
Advanced graduate level degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a similar field required
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Significant experience with traditional modeling and ML techniques
Significant experience with non-linear optimization techniques
Strong programming skills in Python, R, SAS. Ability to learn complementary languages quickly
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, detail oriented, and adaptive to matrix work environment
