Position SummaryServe as a member of the School of Law's leadership team, report to Chief of Staff, and work in partnership with Chief of Staff, Dean, the Dean’s cabinet, and leaders across NYU and other institutions to establish metrics, drive strategic decision-making, and ensure results. Direct a broad range of high-level, inter-departmental projects with a special focus on school-wide strategic planning and campaign development and support; institutional governance, including faculty and board of trustee governance; and ad hoc special projects and committees. Develop and maintain systems to monitor strategic goals and decanal projects and priorities, and assist in oversight of Dean’s calendar and correspondence. Act as close advisor to the Chief of Staff, serving as primary liaison to Development and Alumni Relations and strategic planning partners to prioritize the Dean’s agenda and ensure strong internal communications. Assist Chief of Staff and Dean in crisis response, management, and mitigation, and lead school-wide initiatives to enhance the reputation of the institution.QualificationsRequired Education:Master's Degree or J.D.Required Experience:5+ years of increasing responsibility in academic administration, government or comparable setting and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have prior experience with operational and staff supervision.Preferred Experience:7+ years of related experience.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Ability to exercise sound judgment and excellent discretion; able to maintain confidentiality. Ability to lead diverse, inter-departmental initiatives and manage and prioritize complex projects. Ability to identify key action points and assignments from meetings, communications, strategic priorities, and other sources. Ability to develop, implement and interpret policies and procedures. Excellent organizational, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Strong research, writing and presentation skills and the ability to communicate sensitive information diplomatically and firmly both verbally and in writing to individuals at all levels. Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders in a multi-constituency environment. Proactive approach to anticipating and alleviating roadblocks.Additional InformationIn compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $125,000.00 to USD $165,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
