RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce is working with a well-known institutional investment management firm in NYC that is in search of a Development Database Administrator.

Summary:We are seeking an innovative, driven self-starter for our Development Database Administrator position. This is a technical role that requires advanced database development experience in designing, implementing, and supporting highly available database platforms. This role requires a combination of deep database administration and data modeling knowledge, as well as development and programming skills. The Development Database Administrator will have the opportunity to work on a wide array of database technologies providing leading edge solutions to the firm. They will embody a mindset of continuous learning and process improvement.

Responsibilities: Design, install, configure, and manage enterprise database systems both on premise and in the cloud Work with application developers and business users to design, architect and build new database strategies/schemas, and perform database code reviews Enhance and enforce best practices and standards for Database Development Enhance and enforce standards for Data Protection, Retention, and Security Optimize data access processes and troubleshoot performance and data availability issues for all systems Become knowledgeable on business applications and systems to gain SME status Establish KDB Best Practices and centrally manage KDB infrastructure deployments and usage Engineer solutions and automation for KDB-based applications and platforms Support all production systems including database maintenance, monitoring backups, query performance and DB release management

REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years of experience managing medium/large enterprise SQL Server database systems 3+ years of experience developing solutions and applications in KDB Advanced level knowledge of SQL Server features, functionality, and performance optimization techniques Advanced level knowledge of KDB and its eco systems, features, functionality, and performance optimization Deep experience building and enforcing standards around how data is modeled, managed, and protected as a critical firm asset Strong experience with data modeling, T-SQL, and creating and tuning Stored Procedures, Functions, SSIS Packages, etc. Strong coding experience in Python, PowerShell or other scripting languages Understanding of cloud database implementations in AWS and Azure Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Git source control An ambitious self-starter, hungry and driven to learn A very strong and efficient communicator and collaborator Able to multi-task and excel in a high pressure, fast-paced trading environment Work well under minimal supervision to complete projects and tasks on time Able to think on your own to develop quick and sound solutions to complex problems Strong desire to solve with automation and self-service Willingness to participate in on-call rotation during off hours and weekends

Bonus: Financial markets experience Knowledge and experience with cloud database technology such as Microsoft Synapse and Snowflake Knowledge and experience with open source databases such as PostgreSQL and mySQL A basic understanding of financial markets and trade lifecycles

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
