Position Summary:We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst, Budget & Long Range Planning. In this role, the successful candidate the Financial Analyst will work with the Asst. Manager and Finance Management in order to ensure that budget activity is meeting the institutions goals and standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve all human resource new hires and changes in salary or funding source for all employees funded by operating or discretionary budgets.
  • Review analyze and process budget modifications for operating budgets, ensuring compliance with existing policy and maintaining clear audit trails of all changes.
  • Produce and distribute monthly budget performance reports, analyzing differences between budget and actual performance, including monthly narrative for presentation to senior leadership.
  • Research and report to supervisor any issues reported on general ledger (e.g. accurate budget, budget period, project period).
  • Interact with various department managers to understand current budget initiative status and development of new project plans and initiatives.
  • Actively support the preparation of all programs, schedules and support documentation for the annual operating budget. Prepares all necessary reports, schedules and charts for budget review meetings and presentations.
  • Incorporate new technologies, systems and processes to improve the daily operation of the department.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Primary liaison with the Department Heads and Administrators for assigned departments.

Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and minimum 3 years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination.Superior communication skills, both written and verbal. Possess strong customer service and problem solving skill sets. Knowledgeable of accrual basis of accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:The Financial Analyst is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. The Financial Analyst should possess qualities of timeliness, respect and customer service. In addition, the Financial Analyst is expected to have a greater level of management skills and overall professionalism.
