Our client, a Global Professional Financial Firm, is looking for a:Financial Services Writer / Creative Services ProfessionalNew York, NY - Remote until further noticeLong term contract This is a temporary entry level role to cover a LOA. Candidate with 2 - 5 years of experience will suffice but manager is open to someone with more experience. This role will provide editorial support to analysts authoring credit-focused reports for participants in financial markets. The role will involve editing reports of varying length under deadline pressure and publishing these to FIRMs Ratings proprietary, as well as third-party vendor, online platforms. The reports to be edited will primarily be rating action news releases (published when a rating is assigned or revised), credit analyses on companies or structured transactions, analytical reports, and market commentaries. These reports present the Firms Ratings opinion and must adhere to the highest standards of clarity and accuracy. This editorial position serves an important role in the Firms Ratings mission to provide transparency to financial markets. The quality and accuracy of our writing is critical to our reputation as the foremost provider of credit opinions and analytical insight. The Firms Ratings produces reports that are read by thousands every day. With the support of continuous training, you will develop expertise in financial markets while honing your skills as an editor of articles that clearly explain the rationale behind a credit rating. You will develop the ability to translate financial and technical jargon into plain English, prevent errors and maintain accuracy, and write excellent headlines and subheads that express the key message of the article. Incumbent will work in an editorial team that supports credit analysts located in offices throughout the U.S. and around the world. The business and work that the team performs is fast paced and highly critical to business initiatives. Successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, an understanding of finance and financial markets, and experience with meeting tight, market-driven deadlines. Regulation is a key driver of the Firms Ratings business processes, so the ability to digest and adhere to internal policies will also be required. Requirements: We're looking for someone who is a quick learner, can multi-task, and has a keen eye for detail to be able to copy edit ratings-related articles and coordinate the release of ratings and publications across multiple departments and platforms. If you're right for this role, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, previous editing/writing experience in a fast-paced environment, and critical thinking skills to solve problems on the fly and to help come up with solutions and ideas to better the team and department. We are a tight-knit, highly collaborative team of editors with a wide range of experiences, but you will also have the opportunity to work on individual projects that could be team- or department-wide. Responsibilities: Editing and publishing credit reports (ratings actions and analyses) on companies or structured transactions that are accurate and clear. These reports must present analytical views and opinions, which provide value and insight to market participants. The reports must also reflect an understanding of the ratings process and how changes to financial metrics affect credit quality. Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in English, Journalism, or Business.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Internship or similar experience, ideally for a business or financial publication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a detail-oriented, deadline environment.
  • Experience working on Web or electronic products (preferred).
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • PC literate, with working knowledge of standard office software, especially Word and Excel.
  • Problem solving skills to identify opportunities to expedite the delivery credit opinions to a broad audience.
