About the role: Closely supports management in all data related matters pertaining to patient recruitment and analysis. Develops and advances data extraction, cleansing, and analysis tools and techniques in support of all relevant data assets. Creates and executes data queries, aggregation, analyses and transfers executed in such a way as to bring maximum efficiency, and yield optimal performance, to the delivery of our core products and services and to frame revenue-impacting decisions. Works as an integral part of the Data Services team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of project-critical data components and the ongoing advancement of data storage/extraction tools and processes.

Your Main Responsibilities:
  • Assists with outreach planning, execution, and tracking efforts as needed.
  • Defines search criteria relevant to particular postal and email outreach projects, and queries patient databases to find patients meeting relevant search criteria most likely to enroll in a particular clinical study.
  • Works with external data source providers to develop relevant queries, transmit and receive related record counts, files and modeled data, and integrate data into reporting and outreach as needed.
  • Acts as an integral part of the team to ensure that all postal and email outreach is completely and accurately prepared and is executed in a timely manner within established project timelines.
  • Performs various pre and post project analyses to optimize yield and cost efficiency of postal and email outreach.
  • Builds and maintains database of outreach usage and results to guide future outreach efforts.
  • Promptly fulfills all unsubscribe requests ensuring necessary updates are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Performs ad hoc queries and analyses as required using MS Access, MS Excel,
  • SQL, and other available query tools best suited for the task(s) at hand.
  • Continually refines queries and data handling processes, within established procedures, to achieve maximum efficiency with regard to query time, accuracy and cost.
  • Manages periodic database updates and requisite testing. Creates SQL test scripts and logs to facilitate comprehensive quality control testing.
  • Acts as primary contact and coordinator for major data provider updates to patient database and complete all related testing and troubleshooting to ensure the accuracy of data being received and mapped to databases.
  • Assists in administration and data loading tasks related to the campaign management system.
  • Develops and advances expertise in the querying and manipulation of various databases that make up the full complement of data inventory related to all aspects of patient recruitment, outreach, and performance tracking.
  • Provides necessary internal support related to these data assets including but not limited to counting, extraction, cleansing and delivery/transfer of data based on defined requirements.
  • Assists in developing forward looking database strategies and data architecture, advancing functionality of databases and automation of day-to-day tasks.
  • Acts as mentor and team leader, significantly contributing to the training and development of colleagues.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).
  • Advanced to power-user/certified skill level with MS Access and MS Excel
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in relational databases such as Oracle; along with advanced use of SQL Navigator, Toad or similar SQL editing software
  • Advanced understanding of data hygiene and data integrity concepts; ability to manage and monitor its application to all Acurian outreach data
  • ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) knowledge or willingness to be trained
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, critical thinking skills, and close attention to detail
  • Ability to draft and update Standard Operating Procedures
