The Risk Appetite and RWA Group is a newly consolidated team within Wholesale Credit Risk Management, whose focus is to manage an effective Risk Appetite Framework (RAF) and RWA Target Operating Model for Wholesale Credit that is fully aligned with Citi’s enterprise-wide risk management framework. The RAF is the foundation for all Wholesale Credit Risk taking activities for Citi and reinforces a strong risk culture, critical to sound risk management.The Head of the Risk Appetite and RWA Group is responsible for the Wholesale Risk Appetite Framework, Governance and Stakeholder Reporting, as well as the design and implementation of the Risk Weighted Asset Target Operating Model.This senior position is responsible for the Wholesale Risk Appetite Framework for all of the Wholesale businesses, oversight of the Material Risk Inventory, the design of key risk appetite metrics to monitor adherence to the Risk Appetite Framework as well as to measure Wholesale (ICG) risks as identified in the Material Risk Inventory (MRI). As this role provides the global perspective on the Wholesale risk appetite, risks and monitoring, this individual is also responsible for leading the reporting and commentary on the state of the Global Wholesale portfolio to major stakeholders, including regulators, Board updates, and Wholesale (ICG) executives.In addition, the group will be responsible for defining the Risk Weighted Asset Target Operating Model, including the articulation of accountabilities among the key 2nd LoD stakeholders to ensure engagement timeliness, accuracy and completeness of RWA. The lead will ensure that ICG Risk has defined roles and responsibilities, ownership and development of Risk policies (as relevant) and will design and implement a process to provide ongoing support and review of parameters/inputs into RWA calculation process.The Managing Director collaborates with the Wholesale Business CROs, Global Product Specialists, Risk Planning & Analysis, Finance, and Risk Reporting to:Articulate Vision for Wholesale Credit Risk Appetite and manage related Wholesale policies to clearly communicate standards for risk taking activities, consistent with enterprise wide Risk Governance Framework

Manage challenge process for MRI and Top Risks

Develop Key Risk Indicators to measure and aggregate Wholesale (ICG) risks in the MRI

Revise forward-looking metrics that capture Risk Appetite, in line with Quantitative Risk and Stress Testing standards

Manage reporting and communications to key stakeholders on state of portfolio at a global level (Board, regulatory reporting).

Interface with Citi, Wholesale (ICG) CAOs, to support the Consent Order for Wholesale Credit Risk Management

The build-out of these frameworks and metrics are tied to Citi-level regulatory matters and Consent Order. This senior leader is representing the Wholesale credit risk stripe in these mandates, and therefore must possess credit expertise of the Wholesale Credit businesses globally, awareness of relevant Citi Risk Governance frameworks, and with an understanding of the strategic direction of Wholesale (ICG) and how to design and implement standards and metrics that are relevant for the global Wholesale Credit businesses. This individual must be an excellent writer and verbal communicator with the ability to synthesize information and reports across our regions and businesses, glean insights and distill them into a communique that resonates with stakeholders.This individual exhibits a passion for risk management who understands Wholesale credit lending trends, coupled with being bold and curious to challenge risks identified in the firm’s MRI, and anticipate those that may be emerging as well as previously identified risks that are growing. The individual must possess strategic thought leadership, sound judgment, strong relationship management skills, and excellent communication skills in order to reach and influence a wide range of audience and reinforce the risk culture.
