In the past, Citi has provided most of its internal reporting on a business by business basis. With the changes in the regulatory environment, strong legal entity reporting and governance has become essential. This team is responsible for ensuring that CBNA has the appropriate governance and control infrastructure to meet the demand for legal entity planning, execution, information management and the ever-evolving regulatory environment.Description of PositionWe are seeking an exceptional professional with strong investment knowledge and expertise and a proven record of helping endowment and foundations achieve their investment and financial objectives. This role will be based in one of our offices in the East Region (Florida preferred) and will provide coverage for the East Region and will report to the Head of Endowments, Foundations and Non-Profits for North America. We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in servicing this client segment who will be responsible for both direct client coverage as well as empowering and driving results through the broader team.The candidate chosen will be expected to lead growth in investment revenue and AUMs with endowments, foundations and nonprofit clients. She or he will need to be experienced in constructing and overseeing investment portfolios as well as in delivering advice and guidance on markets and actionable investment ideas.Due to the complex and unique nature of our clients’ investment objectives and related service needs, this candidate will need to possess the credibility to cultivate trusting, productive relationships with key partners throughout Citi Wealth Management and the wider Citi. She or he will be entrepreneurial and capable of bringing in new clients/investment management mandates to the bank. In addition, she or he will have an exceptional understanding of, and ability to communicate, the full range of investment themes, products and services Citi Wealth Management offers to clients, including, though not limited to, traditional and alternative investments, banking, custody, philanthropic advisory, trusts and the investment lab.Candidates for this position will be able to instill collaborative and team-oriented behavior, and to leverage a wide array of product and other specialists, as well as other divisions within Citigroup, to broaden investment relationships and add the most value to clients. The candidate will understand how to align products and other investment solutions with asset allocation targets, risk management parameters and E&F client goals.As the Citi Wealth Management and Citi product platforms are unusually broad and deep, the candidate must have a strong ability to coach experienced investment counselors and colleagues in the best ways to apply products to serve E&F clients. Citi Wealth Management employs a team-based client coverage model, and the candidate will demonstrate an ability to partner very closely and effectively with colleagues to coach, support and motivate client-facing professionals.In general, the candidate must maintain an in-depth understanding of product specialty, economic events and best practices within the nonprofit sector. In addition, she or he must understand broader Citi Institutional Clients Group, Citi Wealth Management and Citi Private Bank product offerings including trusts, philanthropic advisory, custody, and banking.Relationship ManagementThe success hire will possess knowledge to identify and cultivate new relationships, as well as deepen existing client relationships. It is important that the individual is able to convey a consultative approach to client relationship management and business development, and must display a broad knowledge base to clients and referral sources. The goal is to develop the confidence and trust necessary to develop deep and lasting client relationships and to pursue prospective new business opportunities.The ideal candidate will have strong relationship management skills. She or he will serve as the key point of contact for numerous relationships driving the client experience from initial prospecting to onboarding to continued investment management, including participation in board and investment committee meetings. Experience in navigating a variety of market conditions as well as inspiring confidence and trust from the client (which extends to committees, boards) is paramount.Suitability, Risk Management & ControlsThis role requires the understanding of the investment needs of the E&F clients (i.e. return expectation, risk appetite, time horizon, liquidity needs, etc.) and the ability to ensure that positions are in line with E&F client risk profiles.The role also requires the minimization of the E&F client’s and Citi Wealth Management’s exposure to risk by observing suitability policies and by monitoring and communicating changes in the E&F client’s financial condition as well as industry and economic trends overall and for the nonprofit sector.Client Advisory SkillsSuccessful candidates will uncover needs that are not clearly expressed by the E&F client. She or he will also be able to advise and influence clients, overcome objections and demonstrate the confidence to close significant business.CommunicationAll candidates must have the ability to lead investment discussions and presentations in one-on-one settings, in small groups, and with larger audiences. She or he will be able to communicate complex technical details in a manner that is easily understood and consistent with the level of sophistication of the E&F client. In addition, she or he should wield the diplomacy and influence skills necessary to build partnerships and succeed in a highly decentralized, matrix, overlapping and entrepreneurial business model. Demonstrating resilience and ability to thrive and deliver results in a high pressure, global, rapidly changing and often ambiguous environment will be critical to success in this role.Ethical ConductThe candidate will exemplify the highest standards of conduct in all their professional activities and will faithfully observe the letter and spirit of Citi’s policies and principles.Primary duties and responsibilitiesThe primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Investment Advisory Services for a broad array of E& F portfolios, generally balanced, but customized to address each client’s unique needs. This includes deep knowledge of traditional portfolio management, equity and fixed income portfolios, liquidity management, as well as alternative investments (Private Equity, Real Estate and Hedge Funds) as deemed appropriate in each client situation;

Work with E&F clients in the development of investment policy statements and strategies to achieve related spending policies;

Arrange and lead regular (quarterly) investment and business reviews with E&F client boards and investment committees

Maintenance of active contact with known referral source relationships and prospective clients and proactive efforts to develop new business opportunities, including partnering with Citi Private Bankers

Development of opportunities with existing clients to provide additional services and manage additional assets and actively look for cross sell opportunities in others areas of the bank, in particular trust, banking, custody and institutional markets solutions, etc.;

Contribute to the development of responses to requests-for-proposals (RFPs);

Coordination of presentations of the firm’s investment and service capabilities, including developing content and managing meetings for prospective clients and their boards;

Ability to operate independently with a high level of direct responsibility, while maintaining strong ties to the broader team at the firm and participating actively in the development and analysis of new strategies;.

Desired QualificationsSpecific qualifications for the position include:Demonstrated success with managing balanced portfolios for E&F clients with a knowledge of the various asset classes and investment management styles, asset allocation techniques, investment strategies, and strategic planning;.

Must be dedicated to the “client first” and must possess uncompromising personal integrity and ethics;

Must be a passionate investor who is creative, innovative, and possesses a high level of familiarity across a broad range of investment strategies and client management disciplines

7 years + of progressive experience working with sophisticated investors with 3-5 years covering the E&F Segment;

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree;

Ideally, Series 7 and 63 certification or equivalent;

CFA, MBA degree or other advanced degree a plus;

Exceptional investment acumen;

Demonstrated exposure to multiple asset classes with the ability to articulate why their strategies are important and applicable to the E&F

Highly motivated and self-starter capable of managing long-term relationships, and initiating and cultivating new client relationships;

Is always a team player;

Strong interpersonal skills – ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people, and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
