Job Purpose/Background:We are an outstanding group of engineers that are passionate about all aspects of enterprise software development.You are an ambitious software engineer that can independently develop and deploy high-performance portfolio optimization services and core libraries as part of a tight-knit team. These services are used by financial advisors to streamline the portfolio construction process and deliver better portfolios to their end clients. Members of our team are encouraged to bring ideas to help shape our technical solutions and to communicate those ideas to senior leaders.Beyond engineering, you will have a strong desire to learn the business context of your projects, so you can quickly contribute to solving problems and driving decisions to engage, learn, drive, and deliver change on a global scale!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build, design, and implement high scale tax-aware portfolio optimization capabilities as interactive APIs and core libraries written in Java
  • Work as part of an engineering team operating under Agile practices with a strong PR review culture
  • Partner with Product Management, Research, and Client teams to deliver new features and platform enhancements
  • Scope out and implement mathematical specs for new optimization capabilities
  • Invest in debugging and testing capabilities, including automated integration testing and historical model back-testing tools
  • Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of professional experience developing applications in Java or other JVM based languages
  • Experience building, deploying, and operating complex services in a production capacity
  • Familiarity with optimization concepts and experience with software optimization libraries is a strong plus
  • Experience developing in Kotlin is a plus
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction when appropriate
  • Knowledge of portfolio construction or financial products/markets is a strong plus (i.e., CFA or FRM)
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
