Remote Start We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Model Validation Contractor to support our industry-leading financial client in NYC.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.Responsibilities of the Model Validation Contractor:- Support: OTC derivative pricing, VaR modeling, and counter-party credit risk modeling
- Identify and evaluate model risk and propose controls to manage risk
- Lead projects that automate prior testing so risk can be assessed dynamically
- Construct shadow models that run alongside those in production to monitor performance in real time
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline and at least 2 years of experience
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical background; solid theoretical pricing/VaR modeling/counter-party credit risk modeling foundation
- Model validation knowledge and skills in derivatives pricing, market risk VaR, and counter-party credit risk
- Strong programming (Python, C/C, C#, Java, MATLAB), documentation, communication, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively conduct independent research, analysis, and solution implementation
- Good writing skills for validation reports
