A NYS agency located in New York, NY is looking for a .Net/ Oracle Developer for a 12 month contract.

Please note that this position may initially allow for work to be performed remotely. However, consultant will be required to work on-site/in-office once COVID restrictions are lifted.

To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to must wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test.

Requirements and skills

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in .net/Oracle software development
  • Detailed understanding and experience with ITIL processes and structured program management (PMI)
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint and Project (2010 or higher)
  • Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to work with technical and non-technical/business peers and managers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute in a fast pace milestone driven environment
  • Ability to independently set priorities and meet deadlines; a self-starter
  • Proficiency in Oracle DB (.Net/Oracle) and SQL code design, development and debug/test
  • Experience and ability to work in a structured, professional program management environment and team
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to translate user requirements into software code
  • Ability to clearly document all work and create/maintain/submit project documentation on a scheduled basis
  • The candidate must have programming experience with HTML, CSS, XML, ASP.NET C# and Visual Studio .Net, should be familiar with other programming languages such as Visual Basic. The candidate must have a good working knowledge of Windows 10 and higher.
  • 6+ years' experience: .NET code development

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, debug and document software as necessary to implement all new capabilities as defined by TABIS.
  • Assist and participate in UAT.
  • Create quality technical and user documentation in a timely manner
  • Perform analysis of business processes, business and system requirements and system design as needed to develop software that supports TAB's requirements
  • Employ structured modeling techniques and tools to describe business functions, processes, information and technology designs
  • Attend and actively contribute in meetings related to project status
  • Support and adhere to PMO/PDLC project mgmt. guidelines, processes and deliverables
  • Support production defects as required.
  • Design, code and test application software using .NET as the front-end development tool and Oracle DB as a back-end database; provide additional technical assistance with custom development and support activities as directed by the designated agency Project Manager. This includes knowledge transfer in the areas of .NET, Oracle SQL and PL-SQL programming and performance monitoring; assist agency staff with learning how to develop and implement .NET, JavaScript, JAVA applets.
  • The candidate would be responsible for coding the user interface including data entry screens and operations screens for display, selection and creation of operational schedules derived from agency provided schedules, creation of planned and unplanned messages for use with the operation schedule(s) in chronological order or displayed immediately when an exception or emergency occurs
  • Create and test applications with agency staff for the various operating environments; Incorporate and adapt the same mechanisms for new passenger information signs that agency will purchase.
